The influence of mainstream action cinema is visible, but the trailer hints at an attempt to push beyond formula by playing with identity and viewpoint.     A familiar ensemble with a festive release     Retta Thala features an ensemble cast that includes Tanya Ravichandra, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss, each appearing briefly in the trailer but leaving an impression.
